U.S. Travel Urges Your Support for Brand USA Reauthorization

By on May 16th, 2014 — 12:29pm

I am sharing a message from U.S. Travel Association President & CEO Roger Dow on the importance of offering your support for the reauthorization of Brand USA.

Dear Travel Colleague:

Following testimony by U.S. Travel and other industry leaders last week to the U.S. Senate Commerce Subcommittee on Tourism, Competitiveness and Innovation, media continue to report on the travel community’s appeal for Congressional support of programs that help grow the economy. Our work is far from done—and your voice is critical moving forward.

In the News
Coverage on Fox Business Network and in The Hill reflect increasingly focused efforts to raise visibility for the critical priority of Brand USA reauthorization:

  • In four short years, Brand USA has become a powerful force for American economic growth, leveraging partnerships in all 50 states for its global marketing efforts—all without a penny of U.S. taxpayer funds.
  • Reauthorizing Brand USA will help the nation add jobs, strengthen the economy and achieve the goal of welcoming 100 million international visitors
to the U.S. annually by 2021.

Take Action
Brand USA is hitting its stride, and its value to America will only multiply in the years ahead as its global presence expands—but only if this program is extended by Congress. Legislation introduced to reauthorize Brand USA has already attracted strong bipartisan support, currently with 25 co-sponsors in the Senate and 66 in the House.

Your local outreach is key to achieving support in Congress. Here are two ways you can help:

Contact your Member of Congress
Spread the word on social media

Thank you in advance for your engagement and support. Together, we can ensure that Brand USA succeeds for America for years to come.
