More Insiders, More Topics, More Content |
The VISIT FLORIDA Insiders program is growing.
In 2012-13, we will have 15 Insiders covering 14 topics. That’s two more Insiders and one more topic. Which means more content about what Florida has to offer.
One of the revelations of having freelance journalists write, film and photograph stories of Florida is there is plenty of delicious food and drink out there. So we’re breaking up the Dining, Entertainment and Luxury topic.
Current Insider Rachelle Lucas will cover food, from Grits a Ya Ya to food trucks.
A new Insider, Kara Franker, will report on entertainment and luxury, with an eye on those intersections where celebrities and Florida meet. Kara is a University of Kansas grad and former Kansas City Chiefs cheerleader who now has a law practice in Miami and writes about society and non-profits for the Ask Miss A blog. Kara and her husband Jeremy, also a lawyer, live in Coconut Grove.
The other new Insider is John Schwarb, who will cover golf. John is an Indiana University grad who has been a sports reporter for the Tampa Bay Times and ESPN.com. For the past year, he has been a producer for a professional golf website. John, his wife Amy (a frequent contributor for VISITFLORIDA.com) and their daughter Edie live in St. Augustine.
The remaining roster of Insiders will look familiar:
Off the Beaten Path — Gary McKechnie
Welcome Center – Karen Epstein
But we did say 15 Insiders to cover 14 topics. Here’s how that new math works.
Current Insider Terry Gibson and longtime former Insider Terry Tomalin will share the boating and fishing beat. We will have an East Coast Terry (Gibson) and a West Coast Terry (Tomalin); and in both Terrys we have two of the most knowledgeable reporters on the Fishing Capital of the World.
Please welcome Kara and John. Welcome back, Terry. As always, you can reach all of the Insiders by email at Insiders@visitflorida.org.
