By on March 19th, 2013 — 12:27pm

InfoMas Bright House logoVISIT FLORIDA, a half-hour show of Spanish-language travel stories reported and produced by VISITFLORIDA.com journalists, debuted this week on Bright House Networks from Tampa Bay to Orlando.

The travel series is airing at 1:30 and 8:30 p.m. through March 24 on InfoMás, Bright House’s 24-hour, Spanish-language news and information channel.  In the Bright House market, that channel is 900.

Among the segments you can see: Rafael Lima and Patricia Peña reporting from Miami and Tampa on snorkeling opportunities, aerial tours and the Cuban sandwich debate.

InfoMas Website Screenshot“The VISIT FLORIDA travel programs are an exciting addition to the InfoMás lineup,” said Kate Fox, director of local programming for Bright House Networks. “We already offer news and sporting events, including Orlando Magic, Tampa Bay Rays and Florida Marlins games in Spanish.  Now Hispanic viewers throughout Central Florida and Tampa Bay — that’s 16 counties from coast to coast — can see what great things there are to see and do all around the Sunshine State thanks to this exclusive programming.”

Fox also said this first VISIT FLORIDA show will be re-broadcast after the first week, but that schedule remains undetermined.  A second show in the travel series should debut later this spring.

The travel video segments reflect VISIT FLORIDA’s commitment to sharing stories with a Spanish audience and represent a fraction of the roughly 80 videos and more than 200 total stories produced since July 1.  Our videos also are being shown by traditional media in the Philadelphia market and on the Huffington Post; and out of Miami International Airport on the Super Shuttle fleet and its captive audience of more than 500,000 yearly travelers.
