Sunshine Matters

Happy Holidays!  As we wrap up what is likely to be a third consecutive record year for the Florida tourism industry, I would especially like to thank those who serve on VISIT FLORIDA’s Board of Directors and our various committees for their passionate leadership.  The strength of our organization and the success of our marketing initiatives are directly correlated to the active and engaged participation of our industry Partners.  Nowhere was that more apparent than earlier this month when over 175 industry leaders participated in the VISIT FLORIDA Marketing Retreat to help set the course for 2014 and beyond.

I would also like to ask the Florida tourism industry to join me in thanking the amazing team at VISIT FLORIDA for their exceptional work this year.   I truly believe that their hard work, creativity and innovative spirit sets the bar for destination marketing organizations around the world.

While it is nice to bask in the glow of another record year, Governor Scott has challenged the Florida tourism industry to welcome 100 million visitors in 2014.  With that in mind,  I would like to ask each of you to resolve to join the VISIT FLORIDA team next year as we double down in our quest to make Florida the No. 1 travel destination in the world.
