Sunshine Matters

I am pleased to announce that Sharon Siskie, Vice President of International Marketing and Sales for Disney Destinations, has joined VISIT FLORIDA’s Board of Directors.  Enterprise Florida, in conjunction with the Department of Economic Opportunity, approved her appointment during today’s EFI board meeting.  Sharon is filling the vacancy on VISIT FLORIDA’s Board created by Ed Fouché’s retirement last month.  Her term runs through June 30, 2016.

As Vice President of International Marketing and Sales, Sharon is responsible for providing strategic direction for consumer and trade marketing, as well as travel industry sales efforts in Canada and Latin America for Disney Parks. She most recently held the position of Vice President of Travel Industry Sales, Americas where she was responsible for providing leadership for the Travel Industry Sales, Americas organization, and overseeing sales efforts through the Canadian and Latin American travel trade, as well as through Domestic Wholesalers and Online Travel Agencies in the U.S. market.

Prior to this role, Sharon was the Vice President of Travel Agency Sales and National Accounts, and was responsible for overseeing sales efforts through USA based retail travel agencies for Walt Disney World, Disney Cruise Line, Disneyland Resort, and Adventures by Disney.  She also oversaw all National Account sales programs, and provided leadership to the Travel Agency Sales organization.

Sharon joined the Walt Disney Company in 1994.  She has held a variety of leadership positions within the sales organization including Manager of Inside Sales and Administration, Director of Walt Disney Travel Company Marketing and Product Development, Director of Travel Agency Sales and Director of Travel Industry Marketing.

Prior to joining the Disney company, she worked in a number of sales roles for Premier Cruise Lines in Port Canaveral, FL. Sharon holds a bachelor’s degree in Marketing from the University of Central Florida in Orlando and an MBA from Stetson University in Deland.  She has been a Certified Travel Consultant since 1997.
