Gov. Scott Recommends $76 Million for VISIT FLORIDA in 2017-2018 Budget

Fighting for Florida's Future budget logoToday, Governor Rick Scott released his 2017-2018 “Fighting for Florida’s Future” budget.  I am pleased to share that the Governor recommended a $76 million investment in VISIT FLORIDA.  Through this budget allocation, VISIT FLORIDA and our local tourism marketing partners will continue to promote the state’s diverse destinations to visitors across the globe, creating jobs and generating vital state and local tax revenue that benefit all Floridians. VISIT FLORIDA Releases Economic Impact of Visitor Spending Study

StudyI am pleased to share that today VISIT FLORIDA released a new Economic Impact of Out-of-State Visitor Spending in Florida study, which shows a rise in spending, revenue and jobs in the Sunshine State.  The study was conducted by Tourism Economics, an Oxford Economics Company, over a six-month period in 2016. Carlos Gazitua Joins VISIT FLORIDA Board of Directors

I am proud to announce that Carlos Gazitua was officially confirmed as a member of VISIT FLORIDA’s Board of Directors during the recent Enterprise Florida board meeting.  Having already been approved by the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity, Carlos will fill a vacated regional seat.  His term begins immediately and runs through June 30, 2018.  Carlos, who serves as the President and CEO of Sergio’s Restaurants, is the creator of Sergio’s Cuban Café and the La Flaca™ brand.
