VISIT FLORIDA Partners with FAA for 2016 Attraction Regional Forums

FAA Regional Forums 1I recently had the opportunity to represent VISIT FLORIDA as we joined the team from the Florida Attractions Association (FAA) for the 2016 Attraction Regional Forums.  These forums brought together hundreds of FAA members and stakeholders at four locations around the state.  Our hosts included the Marie Selby Botanical Gardens in Sarasota, the Miami Children’s Museum, the I-Drive NASCAR Indoor Kart Racing in Orlando and Historic Tours of Flagler College in St. Augustine. Last week, I had the opportunity to represent VISIT FLORIDA as we joined the team from the Florida Attractions Association (FAA) for the 2015 Attraction Regional Forums.  These forums brought together more than 100 FAA members and stakeholders at four locations around the state.  Our hosts included the River District – City Pier Building in Fort Myers, Jungle Island in Miami, Medieval Times in Orlando and Flagler College in St. Augustine. Partnership for Florida’s Tourism Launches Revamped Website

Today, the Partnership for Florida’s Tourism unveiled its newly revamped website TourismWorksforFlorida.org.  The site, previously known as Florida’s Tourism Counts, includes an advocacy toolkit, an upcoming news and events section with dates for delegation meetings, Florida Tourism Day and National Travel & Tourism Week, and details on how to contact elected officials and track tourism-related legislation. VISIT FLORIDA Receives $10.5 Million Increase in Public Funding

May 3rd, 2014 — 8:22am

Last night, the Florida Legislature passed the state budget which included a $10.5 million increase in VISIT FLORIDA funding for a record $74 million in FY 2014-15.  This allocation includes $5 million for medical tourism marketing and $1.3 million to promote the Sunshine State to veterans and active duty military.  I would like to thank Governor Rick Scott and the Florida Legislature for their visionary leadership and for their extraordinary support of VISIT FLORIDA and the state’s tourism industry.
