VISIT FLORIDA recently unveiled our newly revamped website VISITFLORIDA.org.  Unlike VISITFLORIDA.com, VISITFLORIDA.org is an industry-facing website that provides tools and resources for the Florida tourism industry. Partners can use the site to access programs and find opportunities that are available to them through our marketing team and other departments. Continue reading »

VISIT FLORIDA, in partnership with the Florida Restaurant & Lodging Association (FRLA), has created an online training program for front-line employees in the hospitality and tourism industry.  Before rolling the program out to the industry, VISIT FLORIDA has selected 11 DMOs to participate in a trial.  We will monitor participation and industry feedback through the end of the fiscal year before opening the module to all counties and creating additional training modules. Last week, I had the opportunity to represent VISIT FLORIDA as we joined the team from the Florida Attractions Association (FAA) for the 2015 Attraction Regional Forums.  These forums brought together more than 100 FAA members and stakeholders at four locations around the state.  Our hosts included the River District – City Pier Building in Fort Myers, Jungle Island in Miami, Medieval Times in Orlando and Flagler College in St. Augustine. As VISIT FLORIDA seeks to promote and increase in-state bicycle tourism, I recently attended the National Bicycle Tourism Conference sponsored by People for Bikes in San Diego, CA.  Attending this four-day conference allowed me to network with bicycle advocacy organizations, other state tourism offices and bicycle event directors.  I was also able to take advantage of the opportunity to interact with nearly 250 bicycle event professionals, advocates, bike tourism leaders and cycling enthusiasts who attended this year’s event.
