VISIT FLORIDA Shares the Sunshine with Chicago Travel Trade

VISIT FLORIDA recently ‘shared the sunshine’ with a large and receptive group of travel agents at our annual Chicago Travel Trade Luncheon.  Illinois is the fourth ranked feeder state for visitors to Florida and the Chicago area is the Sunshine State’s third leading origin Designated Market Area (DMA).

This highly successful travel event, co-hosted by eight of VISIT FLORIDA’s tourism industry Partners, was held at Capri Restaurant in Downers Grove, a suburb west of Chicago.  As part of the luncheon, each of the Partners had the opportunity to give presentations on their local attractions and destination amenities to the nearly 80 travel professionals from the area who attended.

VISIT FLORIDA shared information on our current “Must Be The Sunshine” brand campaign, the 2014 Official Florida Travel Industry Guide and the Florida Specialist Program.  Each of these are great resources travel professionals can utilize when selling Florida to the consumer.  In case you are not familiar with it, the Florida Specialist Program is designed specifically for travel professionals to build their product knowledge of the Sunshine State and includes topic areas on general Florida as well as Florida weddings.  Travel professionals can become VISIT FLORIDA Specialists and receive continuing education credits by completing the course at edu.recommend.com.
