VISIT FLORIDA Completes First 200 Miles of Google Maps Project

In July, a team of trekkers from VISIT FLORIDA began an odyssey to capture stunning images of the Sunshine State’s 825 miles of beaches using Google’s Street View Trekker technology.  On Friday, the two-person team completed the Northwest Florida leg of the journey, which began on the Gulf Islands National Seashore and ended on the western tip of the St. Joe Peninsula and Crooked Island. VISITFLORIDA.com Travel Series Debuts on Bright House Networks

InfoMas Bright House logoVISIT FLORIDA, a half-hour show of Spanish-language travel stories reported and produced by VISITFLORIDA.com journalists, debuted this week on Bright House Networks from Tampa Bay to Orlando.

The travel series is airing at 1:30 and 8:30 p.m. through March 24 on InfoMás, Bright House’s 24-hour, Spanish-language news and information channel.  In the Bright House market, that channel is 900. Continue reading »

VISIT FLORIDA Presents At FAA 2013 Attraction Regional Forums

VISIT FLORIDA recently joined with our Partner, the Florida Attractions Association, in promoting the importance of attractions to the tourism economy at their 2013 Attraction Regional Forums.  The forum brought out 20-45 FAA members and attraction stakeholders to each of the four events to participate in conversations about current market trends, technology, operations and best practices of the attraction industry. Florida Tourism Stories Now Appearing on Huffington Post

Now appearing on Huffington Post…

…Florida tourism stories, delivered twice weekly in a new VISIT FLORIDA blog.

And what a showcase for our articles, slideshows and videos. HuffPo, as it is commonly known, is one of the most popular websites in the world.  From June 2011 to June 2012, the site averaged 66 million unique visitors and 670 million page views.

The presentation typically includes a striking photograph or video embed and then the blog post, which contains multiple hyperlinks to Florida destinations and things to do.  Our first post was on Canaveral National Seashore.  Look for Tampa-centric stories in August to advance the Republican National Convention later that month.
