Sunshine Matters

I recently had the opportunity to represent VISIT FLORIDA as we joined the team from the Florida Attractions Association (FAA) for the 2016 Attraction Regional Forums.  These forums brought together hundreds of FAA members and stakeholders at four locations around the state.  Our hosts included the Marie Selby Botanical Gardens in Sarasota, the Miami Children’s Museum, the I-Drive NASCAR Indoor Kart Racing in Orlando and Historic Tours of Flagler College in St. Augustine. VISIT FLORIDA recently returned from World Travel Market (WTM), the leading global event for the travel industry.  WTM is a vibrant, must-attend business-to-business event presenting a diverse range of destinations and industry sectors to the United Kingdom and other international travel professionals.  This year, the show attracted an estimated 52,000 senior travel industry professionals, government ministers and international press at the ExCel Exhibition Centre in London. Through our partnership with Pitbull, VISIT FLORIDA was able to host 15 travel industry VIPS from around Mexico as part of his Pitbull Miami fragrance launch party last week in Mexico City. I am pleased to share that earlier this week, VISIT FLORIDA and eight of our Florida aviation and tourism industry Partners participated in World Routes 2015 in Durban, South Africa.  Held in Africa for the first time, this prestigious event attracts the senior representatives from the world’s airlines, airports and tourism authorities who wish to meet, plan and discuss new and existing global air services. VISIT FLORIDA recently participated in U.S. Travel Association’s 47th Annual IPW held in Orlando.  This year marked the 11th time Florida has hosted the travel industry’s premier international marketplace, bringing to the Sunshine State a record of more than 6,500 attendees.  The show consisted of international and domestic travel buyers, journalists and suppliers representing more than 70 countries.
