VISITFLORIDA.com Adds New Social Media Features

As it continues to evolve and grow, VISITFLORIDA.com – already one of the top trafficked destination marketing organization websites in the country – now includes several new social media features.  One feature allows users to post their vacation photos and videos to VISITFLORIDA.com directly from their social media channels, including Facebook and Flickr.  Florida fans are able to upload and share their images by clicking the “Fan Photos & Videos” tab on the top right of the VISITFLORIDA.com home page.  Another feature makes it possible for visitors to get travel advice by connecting with their Facebook friends from any page on the website by using the “Friend Connect” toolbar fixed at the bottom of their screenview. VISIT FLORIDA’s Welcome Centers “Go Orange” for an Important Cause

The Florida Welcome Centers are not only sharing information on Florida attractions and events this week, but are also helping visitors become more aware of safety on the roads.  Currently, the I-10, I-75, I-95 and US-231 Florida Welcome Centers (managed by VISIT FLORIDA) are in the midst of participating in the “Go Orange” campaign which began April 4 and will conclude today.  Also referred to as “Work Zone Safety Awareness Week,” Florida Department of Transportation officials and Florida Welcome Center staff use this event each year to remind motorists to drive carefully in construction zones.  Continue reading »

Brazil Sales Mission Extends Florida’s Reach in Key International Market

Brazil is quickly becoming one of the top producing international origin markets to Florida.  In 2010, Brazil was second only to the UK in top origin countries of visitation to Florida, with its volume increasing 49% over 2009.  Brazil also had the top spending level of all overseas countries visiting Florida, with an increase of 78% over 2009.
