VISIT FLORIDA & Partners Host Unique Irish Summer Event

As part of the U.S. college football kickoff weekend, VISIT FLORIDA partnered with Visit Orlando and Hertz to host our annual Irish Summer Event in Dublin.  This year, 18 key tour operators, airline representatives and travel media attended our American football tailgate party during the University of Central Florida versus Penn State game held at Croke Park.  The reception, held in a private skybox at the stadium, provided VISIT FLORIDA and our Partners with a unique, festive opportunity to share what makes Florida such a great place to visit in the Fall and all year long. VISIT FLORIDA Welcomes Hertz Headquarters to the Sunshine State

Hertz logoGovernor Rick Scott and Hertz Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Mark P. Frissora have announced that Hertz will relocate its worldwide headquarters to Estero, Florida.   Here is a statement VISIT FLORIDA released to the media following the official press conference:

“VISIT FLORIDA would like to congratulate our long-time strategic partner Hertz on the relocation of their global headquarters to the Sunshine State, said Will Seccombe, President and CEO of VISIT FLORIDA.  “The addition of the world’s largest car rental brand to the No. 1 travel destination in the world is a win-win for Hertz and the Florida hospitality industry.  Congratulations to Governor Scott and Enterprise Florida for establishing a perfect climate for business that continues to attract world leaders like Hertz.” Continue reading »

VISIT FLORIDA & Partners Enjoy Huge Presence at World Travel Market

Last week, VISIT FLORIDA and a contingent of our Florida tourism industry Partners attended World Travel Market at the ExCel Centre in London.  This four-day, business-to-business exhibition, which is the second largest tradeshow in the world, provides a unique opportunity for the worldwide travel and tourism industry to meet, network, negotiate and conduct business.  While total numbers are still being finalized, the show reported that through its first three days attendee numbers increased by 4% over the same time period last year.
