Sunshine Matters

This week, VISIT FLORIDA participated in the 7th Annual IAGTO North America Golf Tourism Convention in Greater Palm Springs, California. The international event drew more than 300 suppliers and tour operators.

VISIT FLORIDA and the 17 Florida tourism suppliers in attendance had the opportunity to meet each of the buyers throughout the three-day convention.  Two of the days were appointment-filled, meeting with operators from the U.S .and Canada, who represented 25 percent of the attending operators, and the remainder from more than 20 other countries. The convention ended with a networking event at the Desert Willow Golf Resort.

With nearly 1,300 golf facilities in the Sunshine State employing more than 167,000 Floridians and generating $13.8 billion in economic impact, golf is a huge component of Florida’s overall tourism industry.  This convention was a great opportunity for our delegation to provide information and assist buyers in finding the perfect Florida golf location to book for their clients.
