Allegiant Unveils Sunshine State Plane During 10th Anniversary Event

By on November 11th, 2015 — 2:26pm

VF Allegiant PlaneI was proud to represent VISIT FLORIDA at Allegiant Airlines’ recent celebration marking their 10th anniversary of flights to Florida. The event, held at the Orlando Sanford International Airport, included the unveiling of a new plane with Sunshine State livery.  The plane wrap features images of Florida’s iconic beaches, attractions and golf courses, as well as the VISIT FLORIDA logo.

The newly aquired plane, an Airbus A230, will become part of Allegiant’s Florida fleet providing low-cost air service into the state from cities across the U.S.  Between now and the end of the year, Allegiant will be inaugurating 14 new Florida flights with two new routes to Fort Lauderdale, three new routes to Fort Myers, three new routes to Tampa/St. Pete and six new routes to Orlando/Sanford.

Since Allegiant began service to Florida in 2005, the company has brought more than 22 million people into the state and generated an estimated $15.8 billion in visitor spending.  The airline employs nearly 1,500 people in Florida as a result of its operations in the state.

Allegiant has proven to be an excellent marketing partner with VISIT FLORIDA, providing opportunities to reach both domestic and Canadian visitors.  We look forward to collaborating on future initiatives with the airline that will continue to promote tourism and visitation to the Sunshine State.
