VISIT FLORIDA Adds 13 New CTIC Institutions to Program Roster

By on November 13th, 2015 — 11:54am

PrintVISIT FLORIDA’s Visitor Services Department rolled out the Certified Travel Information Centers (CTIC) Program at the beginning of the fiscal year.  CTIC certification brings VISIT FLORIDA recognition to welcome center facilities around the state, providing the institutions and their staff with benefits that enable successful promotion of travel to and throughout Florida.

Previously, 13 Florida welcome centers joined the program to become official Florida Certified Travel Information Centers.  I am pleased to announce that an additional 13 have been certified since September:

  • Apalachicola Bay Area Chamber Welcome Center
  • Visit Perdido Key Welcome Center
  • Santa Rosa County TDC Welcome Center
  • Macy’s Millennia Orlando Welcome Center
  • Macy’s Dadeland Miami Welcome Center
  • Cultural Council of Palm Beach County Welcome Center
  • Hollywood Community RDA Welcome Center
  • Tropical Everglades Visitors Association Welcome Center
  • Key Largo Chamber Welcome Center
  • Charlotte Harbor & The Gulf Islands Welcome Center
  • Pure Florida of Fort Myers Welcome Center
  • Fort Myers Beach Chamber Welcome Center
  • Pure Florida of Naples Welcome Center

To become an official Florida CTIC, welcome centers must meet certain requirements, such as being a VISIT FLORIDA Partner, being open year-round a minimum of five days per week, being in a convenient and accessible location for the ease of travelers and having access to parking and restroom facilities to accommodate visitors, including persons with disabilities.

All Florida CTICs receive additional benefits from the program, including a free 4″ x 9″ brochure display at VISIT FLORIDA Welcome Centers, copies of the VISIT FLORIDA magazine and Official Florida Transportation Maps, CTIC certification signage and access to a statewide network of other tourism professionals.  In addition, Statewide Information Specialist Certification is being offered to all employees at a Florida CTIC.
