Sunshine Matters

The 2011 edition of the VISIT FLORIDA Magazine, VISIT FLORIDA’s premier travel planning publication, is now available.  This signature product has evolved into serving three important roles.  First, as a comprehensive stand-alone magazine filled with articles and images highlighting many of the activities and destinations of interest to visitors in the Sunshine State.  Second, as a companion piece for the extensive content available through the award-winning VISITFLORIDA.com website.  Third, and new this year, as a resource for locating the rich mobile content from the website now accessible via smartphone. 

Hard copies of the VISIT FLORIDA Magazine are being distributed to consumers via direct request, at sales shows, in our five Official Florida Welcome Centers and by tourism industry businesses throughout the state.  To request a copy of the magazine, as well as the Florida Camping Directory and the Official Florida Transportation Map, visit VISITFLORIDA.com/guides.

In addition to the VISIT FLORIDA Magazine, VISITFLORIDA.com/guides also provides a collection of electronic publications, including the Florida Insider Magazine, a host of getaway guides, various trails and fishing brochures and even a guide to Florida movies.  You can also sign up to receive our Great Florida Getaways electronic travel newsletter.  The VISIT FLORIDA Magazine will be added to the guides page in February, so go back again in a few weeks to view the new eBook version.

The newest feature of the VISIT FLORIDA Magazine is the reader’s ability to access mobile content on your smartphone.  Through the use of colorful Microsoft Tags that appear as part of many of the articles and advertisements in the publication, readers can snap the tag with their smartphone’s camera to see related videos, photo galleries, articles, deals, events and more via their mobile device.  This is just one more way VISIT FLORIDA is making use of cutting-edge technology to provide potential visitors with the travel planning resources they need, at the time they want it, in the most convenient way possible.
