Sunshine Matters

VISIT FLORIDA recently partnered with EagleRider, the world’s largest motorcycle rental and tour company, to host media who write for motorcycle enthusiast and adventure traveler publications in six international markets.  The journalists traveled from Germany, Brazil, Ireland, Canada, Sweden and the U.K., along with two U.S. media from California and Tampa.  As an avid rider, I was thrilled to escort the media as they participated in activities EagleRider and our Industry Partners throughout Central and South Florida had planned for them.

The six-day media fam tour started in Orlando with motorcycle pick up and orientation before heading off to Daytona Beach to ride the world famous superspeedway and visit the world’s largest Harley-Davidson store at Destination Daytona.  Then, on to Kennedy Space Center to visit the home of space shuttle Atlantis, where construction is underway for the July 2013 opening of a 90,000 square foot interactive Atlantis exhibit that will tell the story of the 30-year Space Shuttle Program and what lies ahead in space exploration.

From space ships to Florida beaches, Cocoa Beach, Palm Beach, Ft. Lauderdale, Miami Beach and the Florida Keys were next on the agenda.  The media took numerous pictures and wrote about the many scenic views, natural wonders, Art Deco architecture, beautiful beaches, luxury hotels and one-of-a-kind dining, nightlife and shopping excursions they experienced during the trip.
