Emeril’s Florida TV Show Premieres This Sunday

By on January 4th, 2013 — 2:02pm

Be sure to check out Emeril Legasse’s new Florida lifestyle and cooking show  Emeril’s Florida premiering this Sunday, January 6th at 10:30a.m. ET on The Cooking Channel.  VISIT FLORIDA, in addition to serving as a major sponsor of the show, worked with the producers and our tourism industry Partners throughout the state to help coordinate locations to be featured in each of the 13 episodes airing in 2013.  Florida is a fabulous food destination and no one can share that story better than Emeril.

Here’s how The Cooking Channel describes Emeril’s Florida:

“Emeril Lagasse uncovers the authentic cuisine and unbeatable scenery that make the Sunshine State a hotspot for travelers and locals alike in his new series, Emeril’s Florida.  Covering the state from Northwest Florida to Orlando and St. Petersburg-Clearwater to Miami and Palm Beach, Emeril not only reveals the delicious local cuisine, but steps into the kitchen and whips up the house specialties as well as some dishes of his own.  As a side dish, Emeril will also highlight the beaches, agriculture, festivals and sporting events that make Florida a one-of-a-kind destination.  From unrivaled college football tailgates and airboat rides in Kissimee to sandy South Walton beaches and nightlife in South Florida, Emeril leaves no stone unturned as he highlights some of what makes Florida a coveted vacation destination.”

In the series premiere, Emeril takes viewers on a tour of Orlando with stops and culinary explorations at The Ravenous Pig and Emeril’s Orlando, as well as a tasting of libations at Vines Grille & Wine Bar, Orlando Brewing and ICEBAR Orlando. To complete the trip, Emeril stops at the Rosen Shingle Creek Resort to sample some creative chocolates.  Here’s a sneak peek at the promo for the first episode.

The next three episodes feature the Beaches of South Walton, Kissimmee and the state’s Viva Florida 500 commemoration including stops in St. Augustine, Pensacola, Ybor City and the Kennedy Space Center.  To read more about the upcoming episodes and to see recipes from Emeril’s travels around the state, go to Emeril’s Florida on The Cooking Channel.  I would like to personally thank the dozens of VISIT FLORIDA’s Partners who have invited Emeril to share their destination with his viewers.
