VISITFLORIDA.com named one of the 20 best designed tourism websites in the worldI’m proud to share that our recently revamped consumer website  has been named one of the 20 best designed tourism websites in the world by Skift.com.   Skift, a travel intelligence startup that offers news, data, and tools to the travel industry, says they searched through hundreds of tourism websites for countries, states, and cities to produce this list of the 20 best designed sites.   Samantha Shankman, a reporter with Skift, explained that for VISITFLORIDA.com and the other sites on the list “their design sense is right on and should be an example to destinations still stuck in the era of online brochures.”

VISIT FLORIDA’s goals with the launch of our new website in April 2013 were to inspire travelers through engagement with impactful Florida content, increase qualified travel prospects and drive intent to travel to the Sunshine State.   A recent study showed:

  • There have been over 20 million page views on the site since January 2013
  • Page views increased by 35% in the last 6 months (April-September) compared to the same period from last year (desktop + mobile)
  • Site visits (over the last 6 months) increased by 20% from the same period last year
  • Page consumption increased by 13% year-over-year in the past 6 months
  • The Trails microsite had an increase in visitation of more than 300% from last year (January-September)
  • The mobile site had an increase in visits of 28% in the past 6 months

The success of VISITFLORIDA.com comes from the strength of its content, including articles by our team of more than 60 travel writers, posts from our dedicated VISIT FLORIDA Insiders and beautiful listings from our industry Partners around the state.  Congratulations to our design team and all who provide content for our award-winning site.
