chrisfullOn behalf of VISIT FLORIDA®, I am pleased to welcome you to our corporate blog and the 42nd Annual Governor’s Conference on Tourism. I hope that this year’s conference will truly help you refresh your connection with your state destination marketing organization and the statewide tourism industry it represents.

This year’s conference, Selling the Sunshine, appropriately brings us to the sunshine and warmth of Miami Beach. Governor’s Conference draws on the fundamental values set by our Board of Directors last year—Integrity, Excellence, Innovation, Inclusiveness, Welcoming, Fun, and Teamwork. These values provide the foundation for our everyday activities and decisions in public relations, promotions, communications, sales, new product development and so much more.

Forging a long-term, mutually beneficial relationship with our Partners is paramount to our collective success. Our Partners represent the all important industry-driven nature of our organization. They are and will always be key stake-holders in our future success. Hopefully we have demonstrated our commitment to this partnership by delivering new, innovative capabilities like our marketing planner, the Share a Little Sunshine campaign and our new strategic and marketing plans.

VISIT FLORIDA strives to deliver the lowest cost marketing cooperatives with the highest value. All of this is fueled by our commitment to selling a world-class tourism product—Florida.

To our Partners and especially our sponsors, thank you for your support that enables VISIT FLORIDA to be productive and perform in these very challenging economic times. I hope you will visit this blog often and participate with energy and passion in dialog with a fresh, forward-thinking organization that values the collective interests of Florida’s tourism industry.

Sincerely,

Chris Thompson
President and CEO
