Bass2Billfish Partnership Helps Promote Fishing Capital of the World

VISIT FLORIDA is now in the fifth year of our marketing partnership with Peter Miller and his popular television show Bass2Billfish that airs on NBC Sports Outdoors and the World Fishing Network.  Running weekly, each hybrid reality show features a deep-sea fishing adventure that incorporates travel and reality based around the diverse fishing opportunities in Florida.

Bass2Billfish is consistently rated the top fishing/travel reality show in the nation, reaching more than 8 million viewers.  The show also enjoys a large Canadian audience.  Bass2Billfish’s following is steadily growing online as well, having recently been ranked in the top 50 Twitter accounts in the entire fishing industry alongside Bass Pro Shops and Mercury Marine. With 93,000 Facebook fans, 24,000 Twitter followers, 7,800 Instagram followers and nearly 3 million YouTube views, Bass2Billfish provides a unique opportunity for potential visitors to experience Florida’s incredible fishing and boating destinations, breathtaking scenery, hotels, restaurants and other activities before they ever leave home.

Florida has long been the No. 1 recreational fishing destination in the country, which rightly earned us the title of “Fishing Capital of the World.” Fishing in the Sunshine State brings in nearly $9 billion each year and supports 80,000 jobs.  With nearly four million residents and visitors who fish Florida’s waters annually, fishing is an integral part of the state’s tourism industry.
