VISIT FLORIDA Utilizes Satellite Media Tour to Help Promote Summer Travel

Memorial Day weekend traditionally kicks off the summer vacation season around the country.  In advance of the holiday weekend and as part of our broader summer marketing campaign, VISIT FLORIDA hosted a satellite media tour (SMT)  on St. Pete Beach last week to bring the message of sun, fun and the diversity of the Sunshine State’s unique destinations to family vacationers planning their summer travel.

Jill Martin, VISIT FLORIDA’s Family Insider, was joined by Will Seccombe, Chief Marketing Officer for VISIT FLORIDA, to talk with media about hot deals, new roller-coasters, zip lining over crocodiles, enjoying Florida’s 825 miles of beautiful beaches, dining, shopping and creating Florida family memories.  To help consumers plan and create those great Florida vacations, VISIT FLORIDA announced the new Sunshine Moments sweepstakes during the SMT, where consumers can go to VISIT FLORIDA’s Facebook page and upload their favorite Florida vacation photographs for a chance to win great prizes.

VISIT FLORIDA secured more than 25 interviews with national and in-state broadcast media through television and radio affiliates for the SMT, resulting in a combined audience reach of more than 2 million consumers.   Regional ABC, NBC and other affiliate stations included outlets in New York City, Chicago, Cleveland, St. Louis and Los Angeles, among others.  To see one of Jill and Will’s interviews done with the NBC affiliate WKYC in Cleveland, please click here.
